I’m Author of the Month at Spillwords Press!

It is a great honor for me to be voted as Author of the Month of November at Spillwords Press. Writing is a solitary endeavor. But in such moments I realize that it’s not.

Thank you all who believed in me and voted! I couldn’t have done it without you all!!!
Thank you, Dagmara and Spillwords Press team!

Enjoy the RAIN with me:

“Down rainbows sliding, drop by drop,
I touched the rain and laughed, and laughed.”

… and a cup of COFFEE

“My fingers tingle with the anticipation of our morning encounters as soon as I open my eyes. No, since I fall asleep. Thinking of you.”

Patricia Furstenberg Spillwords Press Author of the Month November 2022

I did a lot of writing this year, apart from my work on the historical fiction books I’m tinkering with. I wrote poetry and short stories for various literary magazines and some even made it in some anthologies. I keep track of my published work on this page of my website.

It’s lovely to get recognition this way, as well as extra coverage for my books, this way especially my latest, Dreamland. Writing is a lonely activity (but I still LOVE it!). You question yourself, you push yourself, none does it for you.

October also brought me a profile on Poets & Writers, something I’m very excited about.

My new author bio on Spillwords’ Author of the Month widget reads:

Patricia Furstenberg has dissected human bodies, pulled teeth, and even sang on stage. She grew up in Bucharest listening to the legends and folktales of Romania’s past. Amazon Bestseller Patricia Furstenberg, author of 18 books, writes in several genres: historical, contemporary, and poetry, for adults and children. Her novels include “Joyful Trouble”, “Dreamland”, “Transylvania’s History A to Z”, “The Cheetah and the Dog”, and “Silent Heroes” (chosen for “One of the Five Books Everyone Should Read in Their Lifetime”). The recurrent themes in her work are family and survival; her writing appearing in numerous literary journals. Fearless when it comes to pushing her boundaries, Patricia changed continents and professions. She now writes full-time and lives in South Africa with her family.

  4. You are amazing! SincereCongratulations! We are planning a trip to Bucharest, wanting to go all the parts of Eastern Europe that we haven’t been, including Sophia where my grandfather’s family still lives, and Poland, where my grandmother’s family, if still there, are lost to time. I would really appreciate covid going along with these plans. I am tired of being tethered to home. You seem tethered by nothing. How remarkable are you!

  5. The first words of the your bio, consistent with your medical background, startled me at first. Quite fitting for a month which starts with Halloween and ends with St. Andrew. 😀 Congrats, Patricia! Very deserving.

    1. Thank you, Cindy. I don’t know what’s happening with WP lately. I, too, struggle to post comment. Often I have to log into WP after writing my comment for it to appear. And even then, I don’t see it right away, only if I return to the page.

  6. This is so wonderful and well deserved Pat! Congratulations on all of your incredible writing this year and this wonderful acknowledgment of your work! I’m thrilled for you!
