The Lion Head on the Door Says Knock-Knock

This lion head on the door says knock-knock, and I hope that you will agree with me. It’s a whimsical Thursday Doors, after all.

A while back we discussed the history of door knockers and why we knock on doors (!) and we even knocked on the door of Bran Castle: (to listen to a Crocus Legend).

Here are, side by side, door knockers from Bran castle and from the University of Pretoria:

Here it is again, the lion head door knocker front and profile (on the open door!) roarinf knock-knock from a massive wooden gate with a curved Transon window above, adorned with iron cast details:

  1. Excellent photos, Patricia. I’m not sure I’d want to use the knocker on Bran Castle’s front door. I’ll try the side entrance.
